Srinagar, Sep 17 : General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, Lt General Ranbir Singh reviewed the operational preparedness along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh.
The visit to eastern Ladakh holds significance as it comes days after a stand-off between troops of India and China. The stand-off lasted a day though tension deescalated after talks between the Army’s of the two neighbouring countries.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia told UNI that Lt Gen Singh accompanied by Lt General YK Joshi, GOC, Fire & Fury Corps visited forward locations in Eastern Ladakh on Monday.
The Army commander was briefed on the operational situation and readiness being maintained in the sector, he said, adding Lt Gen Ranbir Singh interacted with the troops deployed at the forward locations and complimented them for their tenacity and dedication to duty in extreme terrain and in conditions of adversity.He urged them to continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism of the Indian Army.
The GOC-in-C then interacted with members of the 15th Finance Commission in Eastern Ladakh.(UNI)
