Phagwara, Sep 2: Railway services in Jammu and surroundings areas are plying completely normally while rail services in Kashmir valley are still lying suspended since August 5 after the abrogation of Article 370.
Stating this while talking to UNI in the presence of Additional DRM Ramneek Singh here on Monday evening, Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Aggarwal said railways provided transport facilities to more than 60,000 citizens willing to go to other states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra among others immediately after abolishing of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir.
He claimed that no unmanned rail crossing is existing now as all unmanned railway crossings have either been closed permanently or converted into manned operated crossings.
The DRM claimed that not even a single railway station was closed due to revenue losses. He also claimed full coordination between State owned Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force.
Mr Aggarwal said railways are committed to provide best infrastructure and services to railway passengers. (UNI)
