Jammu, Sep 2 : Intensifying the anti drug campaign, Chief Patron Dogra Kranti Dal and Former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia on Monday said that 13th marathon Run against drugs would be organised on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, on September 17, here.
He however, also extended his support to PM’s Fit India Movement.
Addressing a press conference here Mr Mankotia said that Dogra Kranti Dal (NGO) was continuously working on ground level against drugs and fitness of youngsters and in this regard 12 marathon runs were organised from last one and half year in Udhampur district and Jammu province.
He disclosed that the marathon would commence from Balidan Stamb at 0600 hours via Bikram Chowk, Jewel Chowk, Kachi chowni, Secretariat Road, Panjtirthi and finally conclude at Mubarak Mandi.
Mr Mankotia expressed his anxiety over the spread of ''Chitta'' (heroin) drug at such a fast rate during the past three years due to which many of the youngsters have lost their lives during the previous days.
He asserted that it is the conspiration of neighbourhood country to make our youth concave by making them drug addict.
Mr Mankotia also demanded for the strict action against drug peddlers and stated that such type of awareness activities should be done periodically, which was the only route for drawing youth away from drugs. (UNI)
