Two women among 4 washed away in Kashmir flash floods

Jammu, Aug 31 : Two women among four persons were washed away in flash floods in separate incidents in Rajouri and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said on Saturday.

According to police, two women from Jodhpur, Rajasthan on Friday evening were taking bath in Manowar nullah in Rajouri when suddenly water level increased due to flash floods.

The BSF men on duty nearby raised alarm but by the time, both the women identified as Sonu wife of Sanju and Manju wife of Bema Abdullah, residents of Vela Colony got washed away.

They belonged to Jodhpur, Rajasthan but were living in Rajouri with their families and as per police used to visit their every year.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, two minor girls were washed away and one rescued on Friday evening in Udhampur district when they had gone to attend nature's call and got trapped in sudden flash flood.

The girls washed away were identified as Preeti (4) and Jyoti (5),(UNI)
