Srinagar, Aug 27 : Life remained crippled for the 23rd day on Tuesday since August 5 in the Kashmir valley, where people are protesting against scrapping of Article 370 and 35 A besides division of the state. A good number of private vehicles, particularly three wheelers, plied on most of the roads in the Civil Lines, uptown and outskirts. However, public transport, including the buses of State Road Transport Corporation, remained off the roads in the Kashmir valley, including summer capital, Srinagar. But shops and other business establishments remained closed for the 23rd day on Tuesday.

There are no restrictions in any part of Srinagar, officials said, adding there was no report of any major untoward incident in any of the valley during the night. All gates of the historic Jamia Masjid in the downtown, stronghold of moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq, remained closed since August 5 morning. No prayers, including on Friday, were allowed in the worship place downtown.UNI
