Srinagar, Aug 27 : Body of two people who were abducted by unidentified gunmen late on Monday evening, were found in a forest area at Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said.
They said that unidentified gunmen abducted two people, identified as Abdul Qadeer Kohli of Rajouri and Manzoor Ahmed of Khonmoh in Srinagar, from 'Dhok', a temporary shelter, from the forest area of Tral at around 7.30pm on Monday.
"As the news of abduction of the two was given to the police, a special police team was constituted to trace them," the sources added. The bullet-riddled body of Kohli was recovered late last night while the body of Ahmed was recovered on Tuesday.
This is the first civilian killing by unidentified gunmen after the BJP-led NDA government abrogated provisions of Article 370 and announced bifurcation of the state into two union territories on August 5.
Meanwhile, life remained crippled for the 23rd day on Tuesday since August 5 in the Kashmir valley, where people are protesting against scrapping of Article 370 and 35A besides division of the state. On August 20, a militant and a Special Police Officer (SPO) of state police were killed while a police Sub Inspector was injured in a gunfight in Baramulla, the first encounter between security forces and militants after August 5.(UNI)
