Jammu, Aug 9 : Jammu on Friday witnessed hustle bustle as markets were partially opened, amid restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC, which remained in force post Abrogation of Article 370 and Reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories. Although restrictions were not officially lifted by the district administration, but the markets were seen partially open. People rushed to the market to purchase essential commodities.
Meanwhile, government offices and banks also witnessed attendance of official, but all private and government educational institutions remained closed, till further orders in Jammu. Tight restrictions were imposed in some parts of Jammu district like old city, Narwal, Bhatindi and Gujjar Nagar, but life limped back to normalcy in other parts.
Schools, however, reopened in Samba, Kathua and Udhampur districts, but remained closed in other districts. Sources in the district administration said that the schools and colleges may reopen, only after Independence Day. Mobile internet service, which was snapped on Monday, still remained suspended, to prevent rumour mongering.UNI
