Srinagar, Aug 2 : Reacting to reports that the government has put the Air Force and the Army on high operational alert, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah said this sort of alert, if actually issued, would be about something very different.
'What ongoing situation in Kashmir would require the army AND the Air Force to be put on alert? This isn’t about 35A or delimitation. This sort of alert, if actually issued, would be about something very different,' Mr Abdullah, who is the vice-president of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.
A day after the Centre decided to send an additional 28,000 troop to the valley, the Modi-led government has now put the Army and Air Force on high alert in Jammu and Kashmir.(UNI)
