Jammu, Jul 28 : Pakistan on Sunday violated the ceasefire agreement by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Defence Spokesperson Colonel Devendra Anand, at about 1700 hours, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing of small arms and intense shelling with mortars along LoC in Shahpur and Saujiyan sectors in District Poonch.
"Indian Army is retaliating beffittingly to the cross border firing," he further said.
However, no injury or major damage was reported so far, he added.
Earlier on July 22, an Army jawan attained martyrdom as Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Keri Battal area of Akhnoor sector.
On July 20 Pakistan violated the Ceasefire in Poonch district and on July 12 also, Indian Army retaliated to the cross border firing as Pakistan violated the Ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Poonch and Rajouri districts. (UNI)
