Srinagar, Jun 27: The Income Tax (IT) officials on Thursday raided the residence of former minister and senior National Conference (NC) minister Abdul Rahim Rather in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, official sources said.
IT officials, assisted by police and security forces, raided the house of former finance minister in the NC government at Friends Colony Humhama near the Srinagar airport this morning.Further details were awaited, the sources said. The raids follow the sacking of chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank (JKB) Parvez Ahmad on June 8.
Vigilance sleuths later conducted a raid at the corporate headquarter of the bank.
Business establishments of Deputy Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Sheikh Imarn were also raided.(UNI)
