Srinagar, Jun 15 : A cycle campaign 'Waterforlife,' from Kashmir to Kanayakumari, was flagged off on Saturday from here, a Police Spokesperson said.
He said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Haseeb Mughal flagged off the cycle campaign, titled 'Kashmir to Kanyakumari,' organised by Sharda University, with support of Jammu and Kashmir Police, from Indoor Stadium Sherghari.
Speaking on the occasion, the SSP said the motive of the event is to spread message of saving nature and fostering national integration. He also said that state police takes keen interest in sports activities and is always at the forefront, for their promotion.
In this campaign, Cyclist Philem Rohan will cover a distance of 4000 km in 40 days, spreading the message of 'Waterforlife'.
The SP City South, the SDPO Shaheedganj, the SHO Shergarhi and cycling enthusiasts, among others, attended the event. (UNI)
