Srinagar, Jun 2 : A woman and her daughter, who were among seven family members injured in gas cylinder blast in the border town of Uri in north Kashmir district of Baramulla six days ago, succumbed to injuries in a hospital on Sunday.
Official sources said that after battling for their lives for about six days, Parveena Akther and her 14-year-old daughter Shaishta Bano succumbed at SK Institute of Medical Sciences at Soura on Sunday morning.
Akhter and her six children were injured when an LPG gas cylinder exploded inside a residential house in Uri on May 27. The injured were immediately taken to a local hospital from where Akhtar and Shaishta were referred to SKIMS in a critical hospital.
However, they said the mother-daughter duo succumbed on Sunday morning after developing complications. After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives for last rites. (UNI)
