Srinagar, May 31: Seeking cooperation from the people to maintain law and order and peace, Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday organised a series of police-public meetings in summer capital Srinagar, a police spokesman said.
He said the meetings were being organised for the past over a week in different parts of the Srinagar city to check social evils and also maintain law and order.
a meeting was held at police station Ram Munshi Bagh in which a good number of respectable people of the area, including shopkeepers of Sonwar Bazar, participated. The meeting was chaired by Station House Officer (SHO) Mohammed Issac.
Meetings were held at Zadibal, Karanagar and Nogeen police stations.
Civil society has hailed this gesture of police and assured cooperation in maintaining peace and harmony and eradicating stone-pelting and other evils. (UNI)
