Jammu, Jan 31: Army on Thursday interacted with the Village Defence Committee members and aware them of their role besides providing tips on weapon safety in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“A regular interactions with Village Defense Committee was organised by the Indian Army, at Village Jij Bagli and Batsiyala of Reasi,” Colonel Rajesh Kalia, official PRO Udhampur here said.
He said that the aim of the interaction was to discuss measures of ensuring peace and tranquility in the region.
“A total of 49 VDC members attended the interaction wherein various aspects of weapon safety and the role of Village Defense Committee members were discussed,” he said and added that weapon cleaning, minor repairs and verification of all the participating members was also carried out as part of the interaction.
The village authorities appreciated support provided by the Army which boosts the morale of local populace and assists in maintaining peace and harmony in the region, he added. (UNI)
