Army pays tribute to soldier killed in Pak firing at LoC in Kupwara

Srinagar, Dec 7 : Army on Friday paid floral tribute to a soldier, who was killed during ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) at Machil sector in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara on Thursday.

Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia told UNI that Army on Friday paid a befitting tribute with full military honours to Gunner Rajesh Kumar.

He said Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation in a solemn ceremony at Badami Bagh Cantonment here on Friday.“Representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the martyr,” he said.

He said Gunner Kumar sustained bullet injuries during ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC in Machil sector. (UNI)
