Srinagar, Sep 3: National Conference (NC) Vice president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took a dig at Narendra Modi led NDA government after reports that the number of militants have crossed 300 in the Kashmir valley for the first time in a decade.
Taking to micro-blogging site twitter Mr Abdullah said “ Another achievement of the NDA government - First time in decade, militant number crosses 300 in Valley".
He was reacting to a report that for the first time in nearly a decade, the number of listed militants in Kashmir has crossed 300.
The report said the number of militants hovered around 200 except in 2013 when the lowest number of only 78 militants were active in the Valley since eruption of militancy in early 1990.
Last year, 126 youths picked up guns in the valley which was the highest number since 2010 and this year over 130 have been inducted into militancy. (UNI)
