Geneva, May 19 : The 73rd World Health Assembly (WHA) has unanimously voted in favor of resolution which calls for improving access to Covid-19 test kits, vaccines and treatment, this was conveyed by Keva Bain, the WHA president on Tuesday.
"I take it that there is no objection, and the resolution is therefore adopted," Sputnik quoted Bain telling the virtual Assembly. The 73rd edition of the assembly had to be conducted virtually considering the travel restrictions and infection risk in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. The resolution which was put forward by the European Union also plans to review the pandemic response, including the mechanisms at WHO's disposal.
The evaluation process will be followed by recommendations to improve global pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response capacity, including through strengthening, as appropriate, WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme added Bain. (UNI)
