Wellington, May 14 : New Zealand reported no new COVID-19 cases for three consecutive days on Thursday, as the country moved down to Alert Level 2 Wednesday midnight to restart the economy. The combined total of confirmed and probable cases remains at 1,497, of which 1,147 are confirmed, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
A total of 1,411 people were reported as having recovered from COVID-19, an increase of nine on Wednesday. This is 94 percent of all confirmed and probable cases, the statement added. There are two people receiving hospital level care for COVID-19, and neither are in intensive care, it said, adding the death toll remained at 21 in the country. Laboratories nationwide processed 6,568 tests, bringing the total number of tests completed to date to 209,613, the ministry said. The ministry warned people to keep social distance on the first day of Alert Level 2 when most businesses returned to normal. (UNI)
