UN chief condemns attack on Afghan Hospital

New York, May 13 : UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned the attack on a hospital in Kabul's Dasht-e-Barchi district, an official statement said. The attack on the hospital took place on Tuesday when gunmen broke into the facility after bombing its entrance. While 14 people have lost their lives, 15 were left injured.

Luckily most of the hospital staff, along with medical practitioners from doctors without borders managed to leave the building before security forces neutralized all the militants, as per a Sputnik report. The Secretary-General, in the statement, strongly denounced the shameful act and also expressed concern over the increasing incidents of violence in Afghanistan. Another terror attack took place on Tuesday in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province which claimed 24 lives and injured 68 others. Clashes between the Afghan government and the Islamist Taliban militia has been almost a regular feature in the country in recent months. (UNI)
