Dhaka, May 8 : Bangladesh on Friday reported 709 new COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the country to over 13,000.
"A total of 709 new COVID-19 positive cases and 7 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh," Prof. Nasima Sultana, a senior health ministry official, told a televised press conference on Friday afternoon. She said the country's total number of COVID-19 cases now stands at 13,134 and the death toll has reached 206.
According to the official, a total of 5,941 samples were tested in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh. She added that 191 more patients were released from hospitals during the past 24 hours. (UNI)
