Seoul, May 7 : South Korea's Covid-19 tally has gone up to 10,810 cases as the far eastern nation registered four more cases during the past 24 hours, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said on Thursday.
Yonhap news agency quoted the centre saying that out of the four new cases only one was a local case and this is the first local case reported in the past four days. It also confirmed that the nation's death toll now stands at 256 as one more person succumbed to the disease on Wednesday. Up till now 9,419 people have recovered from the ailment.
The KCDC clarified that the local case was detected in the Gyeonggi Province, adjoining Seoul. South Korea relaxed social distancing norms on Wednesday as the number of new infections had dropped considerably. The social distancing norms were in place since early March. South Korea also plans to restart schools from next week. (UNI)
