COVID-19: Outcry after Trump suggests injecting disinfectant as treatment

Agency News

Washington, Apr 24: The medical community has lambasted over US President Donald Trump after he suggested research into whether coronavirus might be treated by directly injecting disinfectants into a person's body.

Trump had also proposed irradiating patients' bodies with UV light, an idea which was dismissed by a doctor present at the briefing. Research has proved that disinfectants are hazardous substances and can be poisonous if ingested. Even external exposure can be dangerous to the skin, eyes and the respiratory system. (UNI)
