COVID-19 cases in Kuwait reach 2,614

Kuwait City, Apr 24: Kuwait on Friday reported 215 new cases of COVID-19 and one more death, bringing the total infections to 2,614 and death toll to 15. According to a statement from ministry of health, among the new cases were seven Kuwaiti citizens who returned from Britain. The cause of the infection for the other ten is still under investigation, it noted.

The new death case was a 55-year-old Bangladeshi citizen. Currently 1,986 patients are receiving treatment, including 60 in ICU. Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Minister of Health Bassel Al-Sabah announced the recovery of 115 from the COVID-19, the total number of recoveries in the country to 613, the statement said. On April 4, Kuwait reported the first death case of COVID-19. The Kuwaiti government has imposed a nationwide curfew to contain the spread of the coronavirus. (UNI)
