Dhaka, Apr 20: The number of Novel Coronavirus deaths in Bangladesh exceeded 100 on Monday after 10 more people died due to the virus in the past 24 hours. During the period, the country recorded 492 new cases of COVID-19, the highest single-day spike, taking the total number of such cases to 2,948, said Nasima Sultana, ADG of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the last 24 hours, samples of 2,779 people were examined. Out of them, 492 tested positive for COVID-19. A total of 10 people died from the virus. With this, the country's cases stood at 2,948, and deaths 101, she added. Ten more coronavirus patients recovered, raising the total recovery to 85. As of Monday, a total of 26,604 people's samples were examined across the country, mentioned in the bulletin. Bangladesh first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8.(UNI)
