Singapore closes down a foreign-worker dormitory after spike in cases

As a spike in Coronavirus infections took place, Singapore found out that foreign-worker dormitories are hotspots and decided to close those places. Migrant workers residing in these low-rent places are the new clusters.

Aoon after the report of 447 new cases in one day, Gan Kim Yong, Singapore's health minister, has placed a ninth foreign-worker dormitory under lockdown following the detection of a new cluster at Mandai Lodge 1. Out of the new 447 cases on Wednesday, 404 were migrant workers residing in dormitories.

The figure brings the city state's total confirmed cases to 3,699. Ten people have died from the coronavirus in Singapore.
