Kuwait City, Apr 16: Kuwait on Thursday reported as many as 119 new COVID cases, bringing the total number to 1,524, the health ministry said in a statement.
The fresh cases consist of four Kuwaiti citizens who returned from Britain and the United States while 102 have a history of contact with infected patients, Xinhua reported. The cause of the infection for the other 13 is still under investigation, it noted. So far, 1,296 patients are receiving treatment, including 32 in ICU, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Minister of Health Bassel Al-Sabah announced the recovery of 19 patients from the coronavirus, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 225. Kuwait on Tuesday reported the third death from COVID-19.
The Kuwaiti government has imposed a nationwide curfew to contain the spread of the coronavirus. On March 13, Kuwait suspended all commercial flights. The government also closed stores, malls and barbershops. (UNI)
