COVID-19: 10 dead, 341 infected in Bangladesh in 24 hours

Dhaka, Apr 16: A total of 10 persons died and 341 new COVID-19 cases were registered within 24 hrs in Bangladesh. The number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,572 in Bangladesh, while the country's death toll from the virus stands at 60. In the past 24 hours, samples of 2,119 people were examined.

Of them, 341 people tested positive for COVID-19, the highest single-day spike. During the period, 10 more coronavirus patients died, the highest death record in a single day, ADG of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Nasima Sultana said on Thursday. With this, coronavirus patients are now 1,572 and deaths from the virus 60 in the country, she added. Today no recovery from the epidemic was reported, the official also mentioned.

Among the dead, seven were men and three women. Of the deceased, six were residents of capital Dhaka.
