Kuwait City, Apr 12: Kuwait on Sunday reported 80 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 1,234, the Health Ministry said in a statement.
Among the new cases is one Kuwaiti citizen who returned from Britain, the statement said, adding that 71 cases have a history of contact with infected patients. The cause of the infection for the other eight cases is still under investigation, it noted. Currently, 1,091 patients are receiving treatment, with 29 of them in ICU, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Minister of Health Bassel Al-Sabah announced that nine patients have recovered from the coronavirus, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 142. (UNI)
