Moscow, Apr 9: Russia's COVID-19 tally reached 10,131 on Thursday, as the nation registered 1,459 new cases and 13 deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the toll to 76.
Most of the new cases were registered in this capital town, which recorded 857 fresh cases. Moscow has had up till now 6,698 COVID-19 cases. Surprisingly, as much as 47 per cent of the new patients registered over the last 24 hours are aged between 18 and 45 years of age hence challenging the belief that this disease chiefly affects the elderly, 35 percent are aged between 46 and 65.
A total of 118 people have recovered from the coronavirus and have been discharged from hospitals across Russia over the past 24 hours, the national coronavirus response center said, adding that the total number of recoveries has reached 698. (UNI)
