Oman will ban movement into and out of the governorate of Muscat from April 10 until April 22, the high committee for combating the coronavirus outbreak said in a tweet on Wednesday.
The lock down will implement through the activation of Control Checkpoints with effect from 10 am on Friday, April 10 to 10 am on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 along with continued operation of Control Checkpoints.
The Supreme Committee held a meeting at the Interior Ministry yesterday under the chairmanship of Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior. Due to the increase of infection in different places in the Sultanate, the Wilayat of Muttrah has been totally locked down since April 1, 2020.
The Committee also decided to suspend study in all educational institutions in the Sultanate till further notice while at the same time stressing on activating online education through educational portals and platforms.
Oman has registered 419 cases of the novel coronavirus, including 48 in the last 24 hours.
