Paving the way for a return to normal life after a month of severe restrictions, some European countries have announced plans to lift coronavirus lockdown measures in the coming days.
Only some smaller countries in the European region have reported a slowing number of new infections and fatalities in recent days. The countries such as Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark and Norway have now planned to slowly relax national lockdowns later in April. With this move, these countries tentatively elevated hopes of a possible exit strategy to the pandemic.
But still, other European countries such as Spain, Italy, France and Germany are reporting more than 100,000 cases of the virus. Situations are graver in these countries. The WHO had identified Europe as the epicenter of the global outbreak in early March.
