Tehran, Mar 26: Iran on Thursday confirmed 157 fresh deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the toll to 2,234 due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus, a Health Ministry official confirmed. According to Health Ministry official, 2,389 new affected cases have been detected since Wednesday.
Despite the relentless rise in the fatalities, the official apprised that till now, 10,457 people out of 29,406 infected by the deadly virus have survived. Iran is among the worst-hit countries, which are reeling under the wrath of COVID-19.
The virus has so far claimed around 15,000 lives worldwide and infected around 3.5 lakh people globally. However, close to 1 lakh people have received treatment and are completely cured. (UNI)
