Malaysia has reported its 17th death from coronavirus.
The health ministry says the latest fatality was a 66-year-old man with a history of chronic illness who died in the southern state of Johor.
The total infection cases in the country have reached 1,624. Close on the heels of South Korea, Malaysia is also ramping up coronavirus tests as part of containing the virus outbreak. The country is now at a "worst scenario" as it grapples with South-east Asia's highest number of infections.
Malaysia will double daily testing capacity to 7,000 by the end of this week. The country expects to establish up to 16,500 test centres by the first week of April, health ministry director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah, said.
