Gurudwara attacked in Afghanistan, 11 dead

Kabul, Mar 25: At least 11 people were killed while 10 others were wounded after a Gurudwara (Sikh Religious place) was attacked here on early Wednesday morning.

According to local media reports, a group of suicide bombers intruded into a Sikh temple in Shor Bazar area at around 0745 hrs local time. The standoff was underway till the last reports came in. Reports suggested that around 150 people were praying in the Gurudwara at the time of attack. Meanwhile, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal expressed her concern over the attack.

"Shocked to learn about a ghastly terror attack at Gurdwara Sahib in Kabul. I request EAM Dr S Jaishankar ji to issue imm instructions to the Indian High Comm in Afghanistan to ensure the safety of our Sikh brethren trapped there. My prayers are with those subjected to the attack", she said in a tweet. No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack. Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid in a statement said the Islamic Emirate has no link with the attack in Shor Bazar area of Kabul. (UNI)
