Agency News

Washington, Mar 13 : Australian Minister for Home Affairs Peter Dutton, who had met US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump last week, has been contracted with the deadly coronavirus. "This morning I woke up with a temperature and sore throat.

I immediately contacted the Queensland Department of Health and was subsequently tested for COVID-19. I was advised by the queensland health this afternoon that the test has returned positive", the Minister said in a tweet. He further said that it is the policy of Queensland health that anyone who tests positive is to be admitted into hospital.

"I have complied with their advice. I feel fine and will provide an update in due course of time", he added in his tweet. US Attorney General William Barr was also with Ivanka when she met with the coronavirus infected Australian minister.

According to a local media outlet, it is not yet clear that if MsIvanka or Mr Barr have been tested or will undergo self-isolation, which has been recommended for all people who come into direct contact with someone with the disease. (UNI)
