Agency News

Siddharthnagar, Mar 5 : As a precautionary measure in view of the Novel Coronavirus, a special vigilance is being maintained in the districts adjoining Nepal in Uttar Pradesh, official sources said here on Thursday.

Sources confirmed that a special vigilance is being maintained, after an alert was issued at the 550-km international UP-Nepal border, which is adjacent to the districts of Maharajganj, Siddharthanagar, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit.

Sources said the entry of people hailing from China, Iran, South Korea, Italy and Japan has been completely prohibited at the international border, while the residents of other countries are being allowed to enter only after a health check-up. After forming rapid response teams in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh, special wards have been made in the district hospitals for the treatment of patients who are affected by COVID-19 in all the districts, sources added.
