Islamabad, Nov 6 : An accountability court in Lahore on Wednesday issued the release orders for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case.
Accountability court judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry issued the release order after checking the surety bonds submitted by guarantors Saiful Malook Khokhar and Faisal Ayub, Dawn News reported. The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday granted bail to Maryam Nawaz Sharif in CSM case. Her passport was also surrendered to the court.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who was on Tuesday to be shifted to Sharif Medical City hospital from Services Hospital Lahore, had refused to get discharged from the hospital until release of his daughter Maryam from jail.
The PML-N leader had been ordered to furnish two surety bonds, each worth Rs10 million, deposit an additional Rs70m and surrender her passport to secure her release. Maryam's husband, retired captain Mohammad Safdar, was at the court to pick up the release orders.
Following the issuance of the orders, the judicial staff left for the jail, where, after completing legal proceedings, the release order will be sent to Services Hospital, where Maryam is currently held. (UNI)
