New Delhi, Oct 6 : A Kenyan woman allegedly involved in drug trafficking and carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on information leading to her arrest by Delhi Police, was apprehended from Mumbai, the police said on Sunday.
She was allegedly involved in supplying drugs and was absconding for the last ten months after jumping bail.
She was arrested from Naginpada in Nalasopara East, on September 2.She is accused in a case related to seizure of 7.5 kg heroin from three drug traffickers of African origin, the Delhi Police said.
The case was related to busting of an international narcotic drug syndicate by Delhi Police Special Cell on June 25 last year in which three members of drug cartel namely Ekene, Mariam and Martin, all of African origin, residing in Delhi were arrested and 7.5 kgs heroin was recovered from them.
On January 7, Mariam was granted bail by a Delhi court, but jumped it and evaded further trial.
Efforts were made to trace her but she remained evasive, following which process to declare her proclaimed offender was initiated.
She had shifted to Mumbai, reorganised her syndicate and allegedly started drug trafficking in Mumbai, the Delhi police said in a statement.(UNI)
