Rio De Janeiro, Sep 13: At least nine people have been killed in the Brazilian hospital fire, local media reported on Friday.
About 90 patients from the private Badim Hospital were evacuated, as thick smoke spread through the building on Thursday night.
The fire department also said four firefighters were hospitalised after battling the blaze at hospital.
The hospital's management said they believe it was caused by a short circuit in the generator.
Firefighters arrived on the scene just before 1800 hrs local time (2100 GMT) and the blaze was under control two hours later, officials said.An investigation is underway, they added. (UNI)
