No Bangladeshi migrated to India after 1971: Kamal

Agency News

Dhaka, Sept 1 : Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday termed the National Register of Citizens in Assam as India's internal matter.

Around two million people were excluded from the list of citizenship in Assam NRC, published on Saturday.

''I don't want to comment on it, since it is India's internal issue. We would give our reaction, if they want to know anything from us,'' Mr Kamal said, while replying to questions of newspersons, following a programme in Gazipur.

He also maintained that no Bangladeshi migrated to India after 1971.
''We want to clearly say that no Bangladeshi migrated to India after 1971. Those who migrated, had done it before. People from India came to our country and so did people from Bangladesh. So, we have nothing to be worried about it,'' he added.

Earlier on August 20, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also termed the NRC in Assam as India's internal issue.(UNI)
