Kabul, Aug 21 : The death toll in one of the deadliest suicide bomb attacks at a wedding hall in this capital town of war-torn Afghanistan rose to 80, officials said here on Wednesday.
"The latest figures released by the Health authorities found several wounded of Saturday night's attack, succumbing to their injuries, bringing to 80 the death toll of the incident," a public health official told Xinhua.
Earlier, the Afghan Interior Ministry announced that 63 people were killed and 182 others wounded, when a suicide bomber targeted the wedding hall, which was packed with the guests.
The Islamic State (IS) terrorist group had claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
The explosion was so powerful that it blew the roof off the wedding hall, killing and injuring many guests.
The terror attack led to cancellation of Independence Day celebrations in several places of Afghanistan, which were scheduled to take place on August 19. (UNI)
