Hong Kong protests spilled into the streets of Australia and with pro-Hong Kong and pro-China protesters taking opposite stands, the protests turned violent across various cities of Australia last night.
Soon after the protest of pro-Hong Kong protesters, the activists of pro-China also turned up on the streets in hundreds, the situation in Melbourne and Sydney went out of control.
As a pro-Hong Kong rally has been held in Melbourne’s CBD for second time, Australian police authorities warned that the violence would not be tolerated.
In Sydney, following the Hong Kong protest rally, a pro-China march has also been held and a video shows that hundreds of pro-China agitators participated in the march which witness the chanting “Long Live China” and singing the Chinese national anthem. Rallies have also been held in Adelaide and Brisbane.
