Washington, Aug 15 : At least six police officers were wounded during a shooting standoff in Philadelphia's Nicetown-Tioga section on Wednesday night.
Shooting began when they tried to serve a narcotics warrant and ended more than seven hours later when the suspect surrendered, the authorities said. According to Fox News, dozens of police officers blocked the streets in the neighborhood where the shooting took place, and other officers were seen running behind cars in search of a possible armed man.
Philadelphia police spokesman Eric Gripp said that the injuries were not life-threatening, adding that other officers were being treated for non-fire wounds. (UNI)
