Moscow, Aug 15 : An Airbus A321 plane was forced to make an emergency hard landing as its engine caught fire after it had been hit by birds, at the Zhukovsky Airport in the Moscow region on Thursday.
According to the preliminary data, no one was killed and at least 10 people suffered injuries. All the passengers are receiving medical assistance on site. "Numerous birds hit the engine of the plane, resulting in the fire. The plane was forced to land. After an emergency landing, A321 went outside the runway," Russian Emergencies Ministry spokesperson told Sputnik.
"10 people including three children are injured. There are 234 people, including seven crew members on board the plane," the spokesperson said. Twenty emergency units, four disaster medicine center units and two helicopters are working on site, the official added. (UNI)
