Arrest warrant issued against Tareq-Fakrul BNP leaders

Dhaka, Aug 5 : A Dhaka court on Monday has issued an arrest warrant for 9 leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) including Secretary General Fakhrul Islam and Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of the party over a case filled by AB Siddique, President of Bangladesh Jananettri parishad.

The Dhaka Metropolitan judge Sattabrata Sikdar issued the order hearing the case where AB Siddique accused them for allegedly threatening her for suing BNP leaders.
The other defendants are Advisor Aman Ullah Aman, standing committee member Khandakar Mosharraf Hossen, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the sacked teacher of BUET Hafizur Rahman and Chhatradal leader Emdadul Haque Bhuiyan.

AB Siddique said, the accused persons were continuously threatening her for suing some BNP leaders including the Chairwoman Begum Khaleda Zia. Indeed, a letter was sent to her house by the name of an international terrorist group Islamic State (IS) provoking the case.(UNI)
