Dhaka, Aug 2: At least seven people, including four women, were killed and 20 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses at Thakurgaon- Dhaka highway in northern Bangladesh on Friday morning.
The accident took place when a bus coming from Dhaka collided with a mini bus at Jagannathpur Balaka Udyan in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila around 8:00 hours.
Station officer of Thakurgaon Fire Service and Civil Defense Mofidar Rahman told UNI that a Thakurgaon-bound bus of Dipjal Enterprise collided head-on with a bus of Nishat Enterprise coming from the opposite direction, leaving five people dead on the spot and around twenty people severely injured.
"Firefighters and police with the help of local people rescued the injured and took them to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital where two others succumbed to their injuries," the official added."The identities of the victims yet to be ascertained," Mr Rahman concluded.(UNI)
