Bangkok, Aug 2 : External Affairs MInister S Jaishankar discussed bilateral issues, including upcoming high-level visits and exchanges, with Foreign Minister of the Philippines Teodoro L. Locsin Jr as the two countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in November.
Both ministers met on the sidelines of the 9th East Asia Summit here during which Locsin highlighted the various areas of cooperation between the Philippines and India.
The foreign ministers also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern, said a release of the Philippines foreign ministry.
In another bilateral engagement, Jaishankar also met his Mongolian counterpart Damdin Tsogtbaatar and discussed a range of issues of mutual interest. "Working on advancing our comprehensive engagement with 'third neighbour' & Strategic Partner #Mongolia @TsogtbaatarD," he tweeted.
He also had a conversation with Foreign Minister of Timor Leste."Cordial conversation with Timor Leste FM Dionisio da Costa Babo Soares. Agreed to step up engagement across all sectors," he tweeted after the meeting. (UNI)
