Moscow, Jul 30 : A cooperation programme between India and the Russian Far East is being developed which officials from the two sides will discuss at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok in September, a top official of Russian Far East Investment Agency said on Tuesday.
"Both sides are now interested in having equally effective work at EEF, in having a cooperation programme with detailed projects outlined in detail," Leonid Petukhov, general director of the Russian Far East Investment and Export Agency, told Sputnik news agency. "The task now is to prepare a road map with specific projects by the start of EEF," he added.
The Agency focuses on attracting new investors in the Far Eastern Federal District and providing assistance in the implementation of investment projects.
Petukhov's statement follows Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev visit to New Delhi last month for talks that were aimed at paving the way for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the 5th edition of the EEF as chief guest of the event.
The EEF will be held in Vladivostok from September 4-6. The Forum is held annually with the objective of facilitating the accelerated development of the Russian Far East’s economy and expanding international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. Several Indian states and representatives of more than 200 companies will be at the EEF to discuss the cooperation plan, Petukhov said.
