Kabul, Jul 9 : At least 37 insurgents were killed and 15 others wounded in 10 joint clearance operations conducted by Afghan National Defence and Security Forces, in the past 24 hours, Afghan defence ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The special forces conducted 101 Commandos, Special Forces operations in different parts of the country, in order to remove security threats, destroying the enemy’s sanctuaries and ensure better security to the people of Afghanistan." the statement read. Carrying out 13 airstrikes on enemies' positions, the operations were conducted with support of Resolute Support and Afghan Air Forces in Logar, Badghis, Herat, Kunar, Paktia, Helmand, Baghalan, Ghazni, Uruzgan, Nangarhar, Zabul, Faryab, Balkh, and Sir-e Pol provinces.
"The forces also seized weapons and explosive devices during the operation", the ministry said.
However, the statement did not provide details about casualties among special forces during the operations.(UNI)
