Kabul, Jun 3 : At least five people were killed while 10 other sustained injuries in a bomb blast which took place in a bus carrying Afghan government employees here on Monday.
The blast targeted a mini-bus carrying the employees of the Independent Commission for Administrative Reforms on Darul Aman road at 1330 hrs, Kabul police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz said.The Independent Commission for Administrative Reforms is a government body authorized to bring reforms to the government entities and institutions.Meanwhile, eyewitnesses say that the casualties could be higher as the mini-bus caught fire after the blast.
However, Interior Ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi told reporters that a sticky bomb attached to the mini-bus went off, causing the casualties.Subversive activities, mostly in the shape of suicide bombings, roadside bombs and sticky bomb blasts are in constant increase over the past couple of months in Afghanistan and only on Sunday two civilians were killed and 24 people were wounded in triple blasts in Afghan capital Kabul.
Taliban and the Islamic State (IS) group have claimed responsibilities for series of deadly bombings in Kabul over the past few days.No group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far. UNI
